The idea of planting mate, whose scientific name is "ilex paraguaienses" was the founding partner, Mr. Arlindo Guido Petry already back in 1954. After years of herbal preparation resulted in one of the largest areas of grass grown in the Country Industry Ervateira Hoppen, PETRY & CIA.LTDA.

The company was founded in 1970 and begins the story of the purest and most delicious yerba mate produced without the addition of any other product. From the year 1985 the industry was modernized with new facilities and machinery to meet the demand by investing more in quality.

Today the industry Ervateira Hoppen, PETRY & CIA.LTDA., Industrialized product through its advanced technology and from the drying up sapeca punch and is performed in modern equipment, resulting in a final product and the taste of the most demanding consumer. The popularization of the habit of mate, the consequent increase in the number and diversification of consumer tastes in each market have made the industry.

Ervateira Hoppen, PETRY & CIA.LTDA. created three brands of yerba mate: Petry, Matelândia and Dawn, which are consumed throughout the South of Brazil.
